Background: History writeup.
Personality: Jade was born under the sign of the Dragon, and it shows. She's impulsive, proud and stubborn by nature with little regard for consequences until they're right there in her face. When confronted with a claim that she can't, or even shouldn't, do something, her first reaction is always to prove the other party wrong rather than to consider why they believe it's ill advised for her to attempt what they warned against. Likewise, when told to do something she has no interest in, she'll dedicate more effort to getting out of it than it would take to simply do what she's told. This even extends to gender expectations, as she cheerfully embraces her tomboyish tendencies to the point of worming her way into a Boy Scouts troop, without any regard for how strange it may seem to others.
On the flip side, however, she is loyal, enthusiastic and remarkably bright for her age. Though her desire to accompany Jackie on his adventures began as reckless thrill seeking, over time it sunk in with her how truly dangerous the things he gets dragged into are and she became determined to help him in any way possible. She regularly employs logical loopholes to wiggle out of orders without actually lying, and even proved herself capable of cracking a high security vault on her own.
On that note, Jade frequently displays problems with authority. With little regard for rules, she'll do what she wants even if it requires 'borrowing' something she isn't supposed to have. Though not entirely unaware that taking something without permission counts as stealing, she tends not to think about it in the moment. Furthermore, she has a habit of romanticizing criminals, so long as she doesn't see them hurt anyone, as evidenced when she attached herself to Viper.
But though she's loyal to her loved ones and quick to idolize a figure she considers 'cool', she is vicious and spiteful to those she considers enemies. As possibly the only member of the Chan Clan willing to use lethal force, she shows a dangerous ruthless streak, and even aside from that is quick to resort to violence to deal with a problem. Not to say that she is incapable of acting with discretion. When a situation arises that requires a more delicate touch, she has shown herself able to act subtly or even refrain from acting at all, if she suspects that the natural course of events will end in her favor.
Nor is she unforgiving. In fact, the opposite is true: she shows an eagerness to welcome former enemies who wish to change, and is quick to befriend those who do. Perhaps a little too trusting, she's willing to give most a chance if they ask for it. The only exceptions have been those she knows to be manipulative and prone to lying, such as her refusal to accept help from Shendu even in desperate times.
But beyond all of her excitement, cunning and bravery, Jade is, at heart, still a child. She's motivated frequently by curiosity and a desire to avoid boredom and is prone to petty arguments. She has a complex about her height and being treated like an inferior, often leading to attempts to prove herself to others and causing her to be extremely upset when confronted with implications that she can't make a difference or isn't really important. But for all of her mistakes, she always picks herself back up and tries again, occasionally even recognizing the root cause and getting that much closer to maturity.
Wish: To be able to fight, without being held back because of her age. She resents people not taking her seriously because of her size and youth, always treating her like she's helpless and fragile. What she wants most isn't necessarily to fight or to be older, but to be taken seriously and to be able to protect the people she cares about without them constantly worrying she'll get hurt.
The wish will be granted in the form of physically aging her up to match her future self when she transforms, giving her the physical capabilities of an adult when she's most likely to need them to protect someone.
Power: A barrier around herself that will protect her from frontal attacks as long as she maintains a solid, guarded stance, leaving her nearly immobile as a result of needing to keep her feet solid beneath her, and build up a charge she can use to strike back with the combined force of the attacks she blocks. With practice she'll be able to spread the force out over multiple attacks, but initially it's all or nothing.
If her guard stance breaks, including due to moving too fast to guard properly, her barrier will break and she will have to use up her retaliatory charge before she can project it again. Because of this, she can't run around to deliberately catch attacks and, as she must keep her feet solidly planted, she will be left unable to react to non-frontal attacks without lowering her barrier.
Weapon: Durable cloth wraps around her hands and arms that will protect her skin from her own hand-to-hand attacks.
